fuzzy...

so i know, i know...
it's been a bit since I've last made an appearance. Work has consumed my life as of late, and thus I've lost anything 'fun' to talk about. (unless you consider 'Was the user in the correct environment for setting up a new mineral property?', "fun"...). This period at the office is coming to a close so I should be able to find better things to discuss soon.

Additionally, during our VERY relaxing weekend at the lake (no politics but definitely some fries), I gave myself a nice whack on the head from my wakeboarding attempt and it's led to some fun memory lapses.

'blah blah?? - oh geez, I'm doing it again... but what was your answer one last time?'

Thanks to H & M for being good sports, and the dear T for worrying about me without making me worry... I believe I'm fine or, as fine as I ever am.

Last weekend's Aggie game got me in good spirits for the upcoming season and it didn't hurt that we BTHO'd SFA!(...sorry T).

Also- quick shout out to JILL (yes, I'll use her name) - CONGRATS on your engagement, love ya girl!!


the weather is starting to turn to fall and that means ELECTIONS (and football!) so it's time for me to get my little tushie in gear - there will be plenty to discuss (and eat) along the way.

a date night burger

I’ve heard a good deal about Petrol Station, and I think it did relatively well in the burger bracket over at the Houston Press. My understanding is that it used to be mainly a coffee house that offered beer, but since has veered into the beer garden that offers coffee genre. Regardless of its roots, T and I were looking for a low key ‘out of the way’ place to do a quick date night and Petrol seemed to fit the bill. We pulled up and I wasn’t one bit surprised to see…an old gas station. It was full, but not ridiculously so and we were lucky to nab a parking spot out front. Walking in I immediately felt comfortable, I’m very into wood and dark intimate atmospheres right now and this place supplied both. There’s a giant chalkboard listing some of the beer choices and menus for the more extensive list. my gut runneth over

life has taken an odd turn of late. I agreed to traveling for work so it seems I'm living most of the week in a far away place and the short three days between in the good old H. The decision was made in on a high of emotion - desperate times call for desperate measures and all that. In retrospect, it was a gamble that I should not have taken. Perhaps it will lead to some new opportunities but for now, I'm not so sure. Regardless, it is doing a couple of other things - one, is the spike in airline miles and hotel points that I am accumulating... the other, is the change from barely eating out to basically eating out at every meal. This, in turn, means two more things: one, lots of new fun for the blog and two, lots of calories I'm going to have to struggle to keep off. I am at a loss... the more I hear things from this woman, the more I am confused as to how she continues to be elected. Her sentences rarely make sense, and yet people applaud her!
